Abdominal exercises are those that affect the abdominal muscles (colloquially known as the stomach muscles). The anterior abdominal wall is made up of 4 muscles: the rectus abdominus muscle, the internal and external obliques, and the transversus abdominus.
|
|
We recommend the AbMat for support for abdominal exercises.
The AbMat is an one-of-a-kind abdominal exerciser and core trainer. It offers:
- The full range of motion necessary to work the entire abdominal muscle group. Crunch exercises and most equipment fall short of the AbMat!
- A variety of exercises that isolate upper and/or lower abs, as well as the obliques and lower back muscles.
- A safe, comfortable design contoured to your lower back to provide support and to help prevent injury.
- One size fits all! There is no need to worry about height and weight differences between users.
- No more balancing! Unlike fitness balls, the AbMat won't roll or wobble on you, so you can focus on your workout
- A compact, portable design that requires no set-up or tear-down.

A push up, also press up, is a common strength training performed in a prone position, lying horizontal and face down, raising and lowering the body using the arms. They develop the pectoral muscles and triceps, with ancillary benefits to the deltoids, serratus anterior, coracobrachialis and the midsection as a whole. Press ups are a basic exercise used in civilian athletic training or physical education and, especially, in military physical training. A push up can also be performed in a standing position against a wall. |

We recomended Perfect Push Up Rotating Handle System for Push Up exercises.
The Perfect Push Up Rotating Handle System was designed by former Navy SEAL Alden Mills. Considered to be the toughest military training in the world, SEALs make use of the latest science and technology to prepare for the military's most challenging missions. Perfect Push Up Rotating Handle System's unique rotating handles allow your arms to rotate naturally during pushups, the same way they do when you throw a punch, or press up a dumb bell. This unique rotational feature accelerates results by engaging more muscles in the chest, arms, shoulders, and back.
The Perfect Push Up Rotating Handle System reduces strain on writsts and elbows, while helping stabalize and strengthem the shoulder joint and rotator cuff muscles.
Mills carefully observed the PT during his SEAL training, and learned that exercises that follow the body's natural movement patterns help you:
- Reduce strain on joints and muscles
- Get stronger faster
- Minimize injuries
Perfect Push Up Rotating Handle System Includes:
- Two patent pending rotating pushup handles. These tough units have comfortable rubberize grips, stable 7-1/2" bases with rubber bottoms, and long lasting steel ball bearing rotational systems.
- Instructional Poster (22" x 33") This large format poster shows you perfect pushup technique and includes a fully customizable workout planner based on Navy SEAL two minute drills. Match your workouts to your personal fitness level - from beginners to Olympic athletes - and you'll see results fast!

We also recommend the Strength Builder
Push-Up System.
The STRENGTH BUILDER push-up system takes the guess work out of push-ups.Movable handles allow you to target specific muscle groups and get the most out of your workout. Ergonomic handles eliminate strain to the wrists and elbows.
What can THE STRENGTH BUILDER do for you?
- Builds powerful upper body strength
- Tones and defines upper body - including ABS
- Promotes balance and stability
- Increases wrist strength for added power yet eliminates dangerous wrist strain
What makes Exercising with THE STRENGTH BUILDER different than the common"hands-on-the-floor" Push-ups?
- Hands-on-the-floor push-ups leave the critical hand placement determinations up to the exerciser. Exercises are a precise science that target specific muscle groups. People spend hundreds of dollars to have trainers assist them in targeting key areas. THE STRENGTH BUILDER is designed to target the key areas shown in the hand placement chart. DON'T JUST GUESS!
- Strategically placed handle locations provide optimal precision in toning and strengthening key upper body and abdominal muscles
- Ability to provide ergonomic comfort to hands, while eliminating strain to the wrists and elbows
- Enables you to receive a better stretch and upper body flex which taxes the chest and shoulders more than the regular push-up
- Allows for a safer, more controlled workout
Why THE STRENGTH BUILDER gives more value than "push-upbars"
- We've created a highly-detailed, yet simplistic color chart for muscle locations. These images correspond to product hole placements to specifically target those muscle groups. Directional arrows are used to clearly locate position.
- Individual push-up bars leave the critical hand placement determinations up to the exerciser. Exercises are a precise science that target specific muscle groups. People spend hundreds of dollars to have trainers assist them in targeting key areas. THE STRENGTH BUILDER is designed to target the key areas shown in the hand placement chart. DON"T JUST GUESS!
- Safer, more stable exercise due to a secure stationary platform
- Some bars are "plastic" or metal tube construction. Our handles are made from a solid industrial steel rod that is powder-coated to resist rust, and we've added the best EPDM padding available on the market today. This ensures comfort and padding longevity for the most demanding exercise regimes. We Guarantee it!
- No assembly required
Testimonial:
"Very rarely do I recommend a piece of fitness equipment, since many of myworkouts are calisthenics based and require only a pull-up bar from aplayground. Since THE STRENGTH BUILDER is slightly lifted off the floor, itenables you to receive a better stretch and upper body flex while performing apush-up. This movement taxes the chest and shoulders more than the regularpush-up."
Stew Smith - former U.S. Navy SEAL and fitness author

A pull-up is an upper body compound pulling exercise where the body is suspended by extended arms, then pulled up until the elbows are bent and the head is higher than the hands, utilizing an overhand (pronated) grip. The exercise targets mainly the Latissimus Dorsi muscle in the back along with many other assisting muscles. Pull-ups are similar to chin-ups, which are distinct due to the underhand (supinated) grip.

The Door Gym stands head and shoulders above the competition. This versatile device can be set up in seconds on almost any door frame and lets you work out in the convenience of your own home or office. The subject of enthusiastic reviews by fitness trainers and popular magazines like GQ and Esquire, it latches on without screws, bolts or fasteners, so you won't leave holes in your door trim. A cantilever design uses your own body weight (up to 300 lbs.) to keep it in place. The Door Gym is more than a simple chin up bar. It also has two protruding close-grip handles that let you work out with your palms facing each other, a good position for isolating the muscles in the center of your back that control posture. In addition, you can use Door Gym on the ground as a push-up bar and a sit-up spotter. "We like the Door-Gym for the simple reason that we can put the thing up and take it down in no time. One nice feature is the pair of close-grip handles in the center that you can use to emphasize the muscles in the middle of your back. It doubles as a push-up bar."-- Men's Health magazine |
